Rain, Rain, Go Away...
I took off nice and early from my sister's place (7am blah!). I drove for 5 hours to Brattleboro. No surprise, I ran into a huge rainstorm most of the way. I don't know what my deal is with storms and driving but if you look at my previous blogs you see that almost every time I drive I run into one. I went to the Cotton Mill when I arrived at noon because Amanda said she would be training there. Adam was teaching a class so I said hello to him then went and hung out with Amanda. We caught up then made plans for the day. Amanda went back to her place and was going to meet us at the Coop for lunch. I went back to Adam's place and got to see Christopher and Jack.

All of us went to the Coop and had lunch together. I was so happy to see all my co-workers! It was very exciting. I also caught Cat before she left for Circus Smirkus which was a nice surprise. She had cut her hair really short so I didn't even recognize her from the back. We all sat down and had some nice long conversations about random stuff. It was nice to catch up and see everyone.

We then made plans for the rest of the day. We all went to First Run video to pick up a movie for tonight at Amanda's place. We found a section of movies deemed acceptable for 30+ women...Amanda was not amused (see picture). We picked out Strangers With Candy the Movie. I loved that TV show and Amanda really wanted to see it too. Then Adam went home with Jack and Christopher and I went with Amanda to her hair appointment at 3:00. I had an appointment to look at apartments in Holyoke/Nothampton at 4:30 so I prayed that she was going to be done by 3:30 (it's an hour south of Brattleboro). She finished right on time and we headed down to Northampton.

For those who don't know yet, I am planning on living with my friend Colleen in Northampton/Holyoke starting in September. We're looking for a place there because it's closer to a much larger community (in comparison to Brattleboro) and both of us couldn't deal with living in Brattleboro again. Northampton is a great town and I'm very excited about moving down there. Amanda liked the idea too so her and Ed are looking at moving down there too. We're also trying to convince our friend Erin to move down and possible live with Colleen and I. We're still planning on training at NECCA but only go up there 3 days a week for the residency/intensive training. That way we can all share rides and save on gas.

So to continue with my story...
We got down there and found the house we were to look at. It was a really nice place and the landlord Joe was really nice. The place is the bottom floor of his house and it has really cool built in wood units and nice wooden floors. I fell in love with the smallest room and want to live there so badly. The rent is only $750 a month for a three bedroom but that doesn't include utilities (but that's ok, it still works itself out to be pretty cheap. We would need a third person for sure though). He had two wonderful chocolate labs and was totally cool with Colleen bringing her lab, Ume, to live in the house. How exciting!
Then Amanda wanted to show me downtown Northampton which was about 10 minutes away from the house we looked at. I had never been downtown and it was super cool! Tons of amazing restaurants and places to hang out. It had a very young population. I couldn't believe it..people my own age! haha. There are a lot of colleges around Northampton which is the cause for the youngins. We got some Starbucks and sat down at the park across the street. It had wireless internet so we browsed apartments, jobs and places to train. It was so nice to have a park to hang out at downtown. Brattleboro should get one of those...
Best Late Night Food? How About the ONLY Late Night Food!
We went home and went to Amanda's place. Then we met Woolley at Frankie's Pizzeria for dinner. Then we met Jack and Christopher at her place and watched Strangers with Candy. It was SO FUNNY! That show is so inappropriate. Everyone said goodbye afterwards and I fell asleep with Amanda's cat on the futon with me.
