Sophie Sleeping on My Legs
Amanda and I had another day of going down to Northampton. We looked at a really nice 4 bedroom place in Holyoke. It was great and I got applications to apply for it. It's a nice house that allows dogs and is an old victorian place with tin ceilings. There was a great lesbian couple that owns the place and they were very nice. This place has a great kitchen (better than the other place we looked at) so that might help deciding. It also includes heat which is very important. However the area wasn't the best but it's livable.
Highly Recommended
Then we went downtown to Northampton and ate at a yummy place called Hay Market Cafe. I got a grilled tofu with mescaline salad and basil sauce on focaccia bread. It was well priced too! I highly recommend it. There were lots of job openings downtown at the restaurants. I'm not sure how I feel about getting a food service job again. Kinda want to do retail again. I need a job for sure though. Not sure if I want to get some days at the Coop in Brattleboro when I'm already up there. I still have to think about that one.
We found a lot of great places to hang out at. We went to the park again and used the internet to search for dance studios and gymnastics places. There are quite a few that we need to check out at some point. Overall we were quite pleased with the whole visit. We decided that I would come back down with Ed next weekend so he could see everything and get a feel for the place. It'd be great if they both moved as well.
When we got back home we went to meet Adam and his new roommate. He's living in Suzanne and Mark's old place so we went there. However he was apparently at his house sitting place so we drove back over to there. His new roomie is from SIT and her name is Bronwyn. She was really nice and I liked her a lot. We hung around and talked for a while. Then Adam, Amanda and I went to Top of the Hill Grill for dinner. The two of them had to sit in the same seat because I didn't have room in my car (it has my whole life in it). I got a Heidi's Special as always. It was so good.
Around 6pm I said goodbye to everyone and hit the road to Cambridge, MA because I have to start teaching at a circus summer camp tomorrow. I'm doing it with my friend Naomi Bennett and I'm staying at her place for the next 2 weeks. It was a loooong drive and my car's "Check Engine" light went on. Yikes! I'm nervous about that because my car sounds funny now. Too much driving ICK! I did a total of 14 hours in the past 3 days. So over it.
Naomi's Cool Roof Porch
I got into Cambridge and got a little lost because there were way too many roundabouts. I called Naomi and she guided me in to her house. She's at a great little place that's right across from a Whole Foods! Woot! She lives with 4 other people but she's got the whole top floor to herself. I'm staying in one of the guest rooms. We had fun catching up and she gave me a tour of the house. The best part is the roof! It has a whole deck up there and it's so nice. We planned the camp we are doing at a Montessori School and figured out our day tomorrow. I crashed early and slept well. I'm a little nervous and excited about the kids camp. I found out it was 25 6-9 year olds! I was expecting less kids and older kids! It's been a while since I've taught so we'll see how it goes! ^_^
