Older Wegmans
So my sister and I had gone back and forth on whether or not we should go to the Lily Dale Assembly near Fredonia, NY. It's a spiritual place that's been around since the early 1800's that is the home to a bunch of mediums and Spiritualists. We thought they'd be more like psychics but instead they are mediums (people who commune with spirits. Think John Edwards on Sci Fi Channel). Even though I didn't want to get a reading done I thought it would be cool to visit anyway so we decided to take a day trip.
Lily Dale is about two hours from Rochester so we stopped at Wegmans for some brunch before we set out. I LOVE Wegmans to death but this was one of the older Wegmans and it wasn't planned out very well. I had some pizza which was OK. On our way there we had some great brother/sister bonding time. How nice =)
We arrived at Lily Dale and parked near the hotel. It was a little community with a bunch of houses. A lot of them had signs outside the house saying "Registered Medium." We went to the hotel and got a little brochure about the place and checked out what was going on that day. Apparently it was Canadian week. How exciting.
We walked around and my sister tried to see if there were sign up sheets for appointments to get a reading done. However they were all full so we made our way to the Forest Temple for a sermon. We had no idea what to expect but it was a full house as it started. The whole event consisted of visiting and resident mediums who took turns coming up and speaking with the spirits. They would pick people out of the audience and a spirit they knew would talk to them and give them advice. One of the mediums asked my sister if she could connect with her. My sister agreed and apparently my grandfather on my Dad's said wanted to talk to her. He told her a lot of interesting things and the things she said were eerily correct. It was enough that I believed it =P Everyone in the audience seemed to be amazed by what people said.
After that hour was done we went to see the Inspiration Stump in Leolyn Woods. There was going to be another similar sermon there but we just went and looked at the stump. We looked at all the cool houses and went to the gift shop they had there. That was basically it though. I realized that I"m glad I didn't get an appointment because I don't feel a medium would be useful to me. I only know my dead grandparents and anything they tell me would basically be grandparent advice which I'm not going to pay $75/half hour for lol.

A Soup's Worth of Thai Iced Tea!
Because we were so close to Fredonia we had to go visit (my sister went to college there). She went to Pizza Wings N' Things, a favorite restaurant of hers in college and got a buffalo chicken wing sub. Unfortunately there was nothing for me there. I had only eaten once so I was starving. I decided that I wanted take out from Sak's Thai Cuisine so I waited the two hours until we got home. I've never been so hungry in my life! I got an order of Pad Thai and two Thai Iced Teas to go. When I went in the woman was like "Hey Chris! Coming to sit down?" I laughed and said I had ordered take out. We got home and OMG the Thai Iced Tea was in a giant soup container! And we each got one! It took around an hour to drink it all. Wow woe wee wo!
