Travelin' Home

Slow People Cause Traffic

Woke up nice and late at Amanda's place. For some reason my alarm didn't go off when it was supposed to. In FACT, it went off 15 minutes after the time I had set it. Kind of strange. I don't even have a setting on my phone that allows it to do that. =/ Odd things... So I was a little late picking up Christopher but lucky for him, I didn't take a shower or brush my teeth or change my clothes. I was a model of greatness.

Creepsville, VT

As we started on the road I realized that my iPod had no battery power. It was at this time I became a little depressed about this trip because I now knew... I had to rely on Christopher's music for the whole trip. This was possibly bad. In fact, I knew it was bad. And indeed it was. I was fortunate enough to be blessed with four hours of Sweeny Todd (musical and movie soundtrack), Mariah Carey, Spice Girls and other similarly horrible groups. But it was ok...I survived.

Hmm. Rain. How unusual.

Remember those statues in Bennington, VT that I blogged about a bit ago? Well, as we drove through I decided to stop and take some real pictures of them because I wasn't alone and it would look a lot less strange. We ran around the streets and took pictures of "Man Throwing Away Trash" and "Man Painting Pole." We drove around and when we were stopped at a light there was a statue of a guy cleaning a window. We saw this older gentleman go up to the statue and look at it and try to see his face. It was amusing. We also saw a lot of people standing still around the community and we thought they were statues until they looked at us. Weird! I took a picture of one such example.

My Home Turf

We finally made it back to Binghamton and I dropped Christopher off at his Great Grandfather's place. I felt bad because his Grandfather is kinda crazy haha. One day he called him and his great Grandfather openly admitted to smoking pot as they spoke. Awesome. I went home and saw my Mom and Dad. My Dad was doing ok but he still needs a little help getting around. My Uncle came later from his ventures down memory lane. It's going to be a hard two weeks being here and taking care of my Dad. My blogs will probably be hella boring but I'll do my best =)
