A Very Happy Day

Alpaca Truck
(This Pic for Alex and Nikki if They Ever Read This Blog)

Woke up nice and early for my 10am voice lesson. Drove there all by myself! ...with my sister's Garmin! =P Sang through my piece and was doing well but then he made me do acting stuff with it! Yikes! I like "acting" but I don't like doing it with words..or at least with words that aren't my own. So he had my read the lyrics like I was doing a monologue which was horrifying for me. This is why I don't like musical theater. It's just not my cup of tea. Then he wanted me to do hand gestures and all this stuff. I know I"m going to have to ham it up at the auditions but to do it to a white wall? Ugh. I sucked it up eventually though and did it. Kinda sucked but whatever heh.

Barrrrrnes and Noble

Before I left I gave him my business card and as I was walking down the hall he came running after me. He told me that he was a composer and does a lot of stuff in Baltimore. I had looked online the previous night and found out what kind of stuff that he does...it's like, experimental classical music. Kinda neat. So anyway, he asked if I would be interested in doing a concert with him in the Spring. It would be a movement based contortion piece, most likely with a contortion lady too and he would compose new music for it. I said, "Hellz yes! Sounds great!" So I guess he'll be in contact at some point. Sounds like a fun idea.

Woman in Yoga Book with Beautiful Back Bend!

Felt pretty good after the lesson and went across the way to the large B & N store. I didn't want to go back to Carrie's place just yet because I had just put Brodie away and it's a pain to do that. So I hung out at the store and just read some books and got some chai. The funniest thing I found was "The Big Penis Book" It's a documentation of nude male photography through the 1970's and 1980's when it started to become more acceptable to photograph males. It's a HUGE book that's at least 1000 pages. I picked it up thinking, "they won't actually have nude pictures in here" but lo and behold, they did. It's supposed to be a coffee table book... I guess. lol

The Big Penis Book...

Went home and let Brodie out for a bit. Then had to go back out to get my car inspected at 3pm at Monroe. I was soooooo nervous because I have basically no money and I need all of that no money for my trip. So I brought it in, sat there for about 45 min and saw my car sitting outside. I asked the guy if it had gone in yet and he's like, "oh it's all done. Nothing wrong with it. That'll be $21." I was ecstatic! Yay! Last time I had my car inspected it cost me $600 =/ So that was a big relief.

That took a lot less time then I expected and I was supposed to meet my sister at 6pm at the mall for dinner so instead of going home and dealing with the dog again, I went to the mall and just walked around. I found "Best in Show" and "A Mighty Wind" used at F.Y.E. for a total of only $15! I've been looking for used ones for a while and I was very happy. After walking the mall I went back to my car and watched some of "Best in Show" until my sister got there.

The Remainder of My Large Salad

We went into this place called Camilles and I had a great spinach salad with walnuts, chunks of brie and apples with a vinaigrette dressing. It was so yummy but way too much. I felt bad for not eating it all but I mean wtf, they gave me the equivalent of a whole block of brie! lol.

Then we went to see The Dark Knight with one of my sister's coworkers! I really liked the movie and I thought Heath Ledger did a great job as the joker. The only thing I didn't like was the multiple endings it could have had. I kept expecting it to end but it would just go on and on and on. I feel like that movie could have easily been two movies. Other than that I liked it. I feel like the first one was darker though... the city was too bright and clean for me.

The rest of the night was spent packing up my stuff. Have be at the airport at 5am! haha oh God why...
