To the City, Batman! Oh Wait, No Batman for Me =(

Petshotel / Rain Storm! / DD / Creepy Dolls

Ok so I took a lot of pictures today because of my lack of pictures yesterday. This will also be a shorter post than it originally was because the stupid hospital internet didn't let my blog post or save so I'm rewriting this, grr.

My sister and I woke up around 7:30am and took Brodie to the Petsmart "Petshotel". Lucky dog gets a room all to himself and playtime and treats! Wow, I wish I could have that! As we started driving we ran into a freak rain storm that lasted about ten minutes. There was heavy rain and lightening! We almost had to pull over it was so bad. Once past that we made it to a Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. I felt the need to photograph the woman helping us in the window... not sure why. The trip was long and arduous.

We didn't stop until we were in Conklin, NY (a little past Binghamton). We were at the "Pilot": one of those everything convenience stores that have the most random shit you'll ever see. They had these huge black girl dolls that were extremely creepy for sale. I took a picture of them... I feel like I shouldn't have though... I am frightened of them =O We saw a lot of cops out too...about 5 pullovers on the way down.

Lots of Cheese Pizzas / Salad Pizza!

When we finally made it to Nyack (where Carl lives) we went to get some food at a really nice pizza place. They had a salad pizza which was all lettuce and tomatoes! Craziness! A picture of it is in the top right corner above ^_^ We went to Carl's place then jumped into his car and drove into the city. Crossed the George Washington and went straight to Columbia Hospital.

We went up and saw my Mom and Dad. My Dad actually looked a lot better then he did the first time he had this surgery. I was actually really surprised. We ended up hanging out with him and my Mom for the rest of the day. It was a little hard to understand him because he can't really move the right side of his mouth very well. He has a wonderful view of the George W Bridge and the river! Lucky guy! Hopefully he'll be out of here by Saturday and moving to the place where he'll be doing his rehabilitation.

My Mom has a hotel room at the hospital which is really awesome. It has an amazing view of NYC. Unfortunately she can't stay here all weekend but hopefully she won't need to (if my Dad is transferred). If he does stay, however, we will be going to a hotel across the river that has a bus to get us to the hospital. Everyone's really nice here except for the ladies in the "fancy restaurant" at this place. Expensive food, good quality, terrible service! I mean yikes, we were afraid to ask for stuff! lol.

As a side note, my parents got to meet Dr. Oz. You know, that doctor that's always on Oprah? Anywho, he came by to say hello and see how my Dad was doing. My aunt knows him through the doctor she works for and apparently he's the reason my Dad got to go to Columbia the first time. Pretty spiffy huh? Oh the famous connections we Oakleys have haha ^_^

View from My Mom's Hotel Room

At night, the three of us hung out in my Mum's room and watched TV. Trixie and Monkey were on the Gong Show so we stayed up and watched them. They were great and got majorly jipped  on the points. The whole show is poorly produced and the other acts were terrible. Ah well.

I also did my back exercises and I was feeling pretty good! I actually did 5 bridges and my back didn't hurt! Praise Jesus! =D I got to sleep on the floor of the room which was basically cement with a flat rug on it. It was sooo hard and it felt sooo good! My back was in love with me. I slept very well all night long and all was good in back land for me. =)
