The Thursday that should have been good...

The day started out pretty great...went out to breakfast with Mark at a really cool little diner. I took a picture of our orange juices because Mark's small was pretty small and I thought it was funny =P Then we made our daily stop at a Starbucks and I went into the nearby radioshack to get some sort of device to transfer the pictures from my phone to my computer so I don't have to keep sending picture messages to myself. I found a wonderful card reader/USB device so now I can take as many pictures as I want! I can also use it to put music on my phone..sweet!

We then went thrift store shopping for our "1970/1980 glam rock" costumes that we both need for a gig coming up this Saturday in NYC. We ended up shopping in the women's section for quite a while. I was a winner with the outfit you see to the right...bright green pants, pink undershirt and a tight shimmery top thing. I'm thinking about cutting the legs of the pants off and wearing shimmery leggings but we'll see. Mark was not so lucky. We tried going to another thrift store later in the day but he didn't find anything he liked there either.

We made our way over to training a little bit later. By the time it gets to the evening when we are supposed to train I have been extremely tired and not wanting to train. I think I've just been overwhelmed with the new place, all the walking around and the stress from scheduling/my back. We got the rig and ran our hand to hand sequence which worked out ok. My back was starting to feel weird but I kept going...of course. As we worked on rope trickes my back started to spasm and I had to get down. We called it quits for the night and I fell into a depressive slump for the remainder of the night. I bought a heating pad at CVS and some medicine/food at Whole Foods on our way home. To say I'm a little frustrated is an understatement. I'll be taking it easy tomorrow and doing some conditioning to help this get better. Oh well. The rest of the night was just relaxing.

Oh and the last picture of the blog... we crossed through a park on our way home and they had two very large flags but they were certainly missing some stars (see picture). We were both kind of confused by this...any suggestions as to why? Curious indeed!

assuming that you were in Vermont when you saw the flags...it was probably celebrating the addition of Vermont to the union. It is the 15 star flag...which was expanded from the original 13 star flag...when Kentucky and Vermont were added as states.

At least that's what wikipedia says.

well, now i can follow yr blog. i come back to the states next week! i'm glad to be done with this show and excited about my life to come, but i will have some fond nostalgia for a lot of people here. i hope i can help some of them find work in the states and then they can come stay with me in all their ukranian/russian/chinese splendor (not to mention japanese, welsh, english and australian, oh my). take it easy on yr back love, i'm just getting back into walkovers and short bridges since i strained mine. anyway, missing you always, maybe we can be in the same place for a second this summer....
love, m
