Mmm, Aja Noodle
My sister and I went to a place called Aja Noodle today. It was freaking sweet! The menu had a bunch of vegetarian options (lots of tofu). I got a red curry dish that was yummy. It had chunks of eggplant in it which were kinda gross but I just didn't eat them =) My sister got this delicious cold peanut salad thing... it wasn't really a salad though, it was more like a noodle dish.
We went to see Hellboy 2 on my request (woot!) It was humorous and entertaining but not SPECTACULAR. The characters and costumes and makeup were very well done. On our way to the theater we went to explore a housing community that looked fancy and boy was it! They were castles! But the funny part was this one house that I took a picture of (see above). It had all sorts of shit in the front yard! The neighbors must hate them. Just look at the picture and you'll see what I mean.
I got a sweet pair of shorts at Target today (yes I even go to Target here). They're all black and white stripey. I got my Starbucks addiction attended to. Went to Wegmans to pick up lots of food. My sister got a fruit tart from the bakery. OH MAN it's pretty much the most delicious thing in the world! We also bought stuff so I could juice veggies and fruits for my sister because she's never had juiced produce before. She is in for a treat!
Diabetes Cake
Also, my brother in law sent us a picture of the cake they had for his father's birthday. It was a brownie cheesecake. Basically it was brownie crust, cheese cake, then more brownie on top. A diabetic's dream come true for sure. He said they could only eat one piece which I completely believe. I wouldn't be surprised if they're all comatose after eating it.
Most Important News EVER
The most important thing of the day was almost forgotten! I got called today by the assistant to the casting director for Circus McGurkus and I was invited to an audition on Friday the 25th in Las Vegas! That's so kick ass. They sent me what I need to do and all the information via email. Turns out I have to sing a broadway style song, do a one minute routine, be prepared to do some dancing, strength test and do a monologue from the Dr. Seuss book.
So I was really worried about the song because I haven't sung anything in 5 years plus I"m not a huge fan of Broadway so my sister and I went out on the interweb to look up songs. We had a good time laughing at all the funny songs. But then! A stroke of Genius! My sister suggested Spamalot and I made the decision to do "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life!" hehe Me loves that song! So I'm looking for a voice coach to go over it with me. I'm very excited!
