Maybe...
Went over to Carolyn's place so that we could catch lunch and Mark could say goodbye to her. One our way to Sarkis Market (the falafel place) Jon was getting the last of his stuff from his former house so he came with us to eat. I had this delicious falafel pocket with sprouts, tahini, hummus, goat cheese and cucumbers. It was wonderful! Oddly, Amanda came in to order lunch and she ended up sitting and chatting with us for a while. There was some kid in Harmony Parking Lot (opposite of Sarkis Market) that had a pair of nunchuks.
After that Mark and I ran some errands. We ran into Elsie, one of the twins, at Staples trying to get UPS to pay for the rigging and equipment they lost. She was all pretty and in a dress... it took us a while to recognize her out of training clothes =P I got a 2 GB flash drive for $15. Pretty exciting.
We passed Jon on Putney Rd on the way home and he called Mark asking us if we wanted to go to Friendly's for ice cream with him. He was going alone so I said yes. We got there and I have never had such crappy service at a Friendly's! We waited 10 minutes to get seated and then once we were at a table, the waitress never came over to us! Even after 20 min of waiting! We didn't even know who our waitress was so we just left because we were suddenly over having ice cream. Sad times.
For dinner, Mark and I went to this new vegetarian place across the street from the Co-op. Mark made fun of their use of Jamaican colors...expecting it to be run by a bunch of dread-headed hippie chicks. But to both of our surprise, it was run by actual Jamaicans. They were super nice and everything there was vegetarian! Not a huge selection but decent enough. Half of the place didn't have tables and chairs on which Mark commented "This place must be a front" lol. I had a "Curry Chunk" which was a TVP curry with potatoes and veggies. It came with some narly greens and delicious black beans and rice. Overall a good experience.
That night a bunch of us met up at Flat Street Pub. The group consisted of Suzanne, Ed, Amanda, Jon, Mark and myself. We had a very good time just laughing and eating copious amounts of nachos...mmm. Nachos (PS Monika if you're reading this, we're going out for nachos when I get home). They also ordered a lot of chocolate cake. I did not partake of the chocolate cake. Praise be to Jesus that I didn't because everyone felt way too full afterwards...like, vomitous full. I ran into my friend Wendy and got to talk with her for a bit.
It's so funny when there are so few people that you actually hang out with in a town. Looking back over these past few weeks I've realized that I've been hanging out with the same people constantly. That's totally cool with me but our group of friends used to be so much bigger that it's kind of strange looking back.
