Erin's Place - My Home for the Past Week
Woke up nice and early at 7am and got myself movin'! Out of Brattleboro I went, like a speeding Escort. The four hour drive was gross as usual. The last two hours are the worst because it's all highway and nothing to look at. Ick. When I drove through Bennington there were a whole bunch of real looking people statues EVERYWHERE! It was very creepy... some were painting a sign, some were finishing shopping and some were sitting on benches. They're just randomly around town...kinda weird. I tried to take a picture of one on a bench (see below).
I got home around noon. Spent the majority of the time talking with my father. Always a joy. Got to see my rabbit Spence which was nice. He still acts as antsy and spastic as he used to. Got to talk to Mark who has now gotten into the "zooing business" in Baltimore. Very exciting for him =)
Went out to dinner with my parents for my birthday at "Moghul", a fancy Indian restaurant. I was unsure how I felt about this because I haven't really had Indian food since my nasty stomach bug/Indian food/Monster Drink experience last Halloween. It just doesn't sound that appetizing to me any more but I didn't want to disappoint my Mom so I thought I'd give it a chance. Everything was going ok but I really couldn't handle my dish. I ended up not eating any of it. And the weirdest thing was, I was eating some samosas as an appetizer and I was totally shaking and feeling like the blood was draining from my body. I assume that it was all mental and that my body was afraid of the Indian food (I would be too after what happened last time). I reminded my Mom about the experience and she felt bad for taking me to Indian food. =( It was still nice though and it was good to hang with my parents for a bit.
After that I met up with Monika and Bobby at the Starbucks near Moghul. We chatted and caught up while waiting for Amy to get off from work. I had a GLORIOUS CHAI and I declared it was good. Amy got there and we went to Cyber Cafe West so Amy could eat. We chatted there then ended the night early (very unusual for us). It was a good visit. Not sure when I'll see them again but you know, good times. =)
